Job Summary

 

This position is 80% Remote! The company is a nationally award-winning administrator of a broad array of proprietary consumer protection products, generally multi-year insurance or warranty-like products covering repairs to vehicles and home systems. The position is responsible for setting and managing the product development roadmap for the company, ensuring product regulatory filing and compliance, as well as product line licensing throughout the markets served by EFG Companies.

 

Job Responsibilities of the Product Management, Licensing, and Compliance Director

 

  • Supervision and hands-on management of workflow, training, organizational structure, staff hiring/reviews, and setting department direction. Extensive interfacing with all departments and other senior managers. Requires prioritization of efforts based upon business value and the management of, and communication with, stakeholders accordingly. Regular communication and support of EFG’s sales and client service efforts through its divisional sales teams is paramount and requires an individual who can create strong, collaborative networks with the Line of Business field team leaders. 

 

  • Product Management Responsibilities:
  • Management and development of our product forms. This will involve product form creation, editing, and management of the forms within our proprietary forms system. You will also work with both internal and external partners on product form development and maintenance.
  • Product form filings with appropriate state regulatory bodies, as well as lenders that serve EFG’s client base.
  • Tracking product performance, as well as training of field team members on value and positioning of products.
  • Monitor and report on key industry participants, including product providers, insurers, and agents.
  • Proactively bring forward new consumer trends around product purchasing and new product needs.
  • Working with EFG’s marketing department for continuous competitive product comparisons, third-party administrator product activity, etc.
  • Define business requirements for new products and enhancements, partnering with other functional stakeholders to ensure effective and timely delivery to the marketplace.

 

This includes:  

  1. Definition and Planning - Evaluate requirements, define scope, develop work plans
  2. Team Infrastructure and Reporting - Work with resources, monitor, and report
  3. Financial Management - Cost-benefits, tracking, and negotiating
  4. Quality Assurance and Risk Management - Assess risk, identify integration points
  5. Implementation Rollout, evaluation
  • Partner with sales personnel to identify business processes and technology solutions to help achieve sales goals.
  • Develop business cases to support new initiatives and rationale for business prioritization.
  • Monitor and work with existing corporate processes and tools related to product management; objectively monitor and provide ideas around continuous improvement

Regulatory Management & Licensing Responsibilities:

  • Interfacing in conjunction with EFG’s Risk Department with EFG’s underwriters related to products and rates.
  • Management and monitoring of licenses, compliance of forms, and fulfillment providers.
  • Management of EFG’s compliance database that is updated annually.
  • Review compliance of marketing material and web site content.
  • Management of all corporate agreements and legal documents, this includes creation and storage.
  • Management of monthly product form progress reports that are distributed monthly to EFG’s Line of Business field team leaders.
  • Management of consumer complaint responses and log.
  • Work with EFG’s outside regulatory counsel on product regulator changes, matters of product regulation and state statute changes, business associations, and State regulatory agencies.

Job Qualifications of the Product Management, Licensing, and Compliance Director

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration or related field.
  • 5 - 10 years’ experience in service contract product management/regulatory & compliance management
  • 10 years relevant work experience required in insurance, third party product administration, residential mortgage, or automotive finance.
  • Background in working with highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with insurance, warranty, or service contract language.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work with all levels of an organization. Must be able to clearly explain complex topics.
  • Must possess solid business acumen, including experience in business development and ability to conduct performance analysis across products and accounts.
  • Technical aptitude
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to articulate and drive cross-discipline project teams to unified goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Initiative-taker and ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multi-task with shifting priorities.
  • Understanding of the development of insurance rates and forms.
  • P&C license or Surplus line license is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
